Monday, January 8, 2018I was lucky enough to have lived my entire childhood having Ada and Gerald live right next door. A mountain of memories flood back as I think how wonderful they both were to my Mom and Dad, brother, sister and myself. The little things she did for me that made me feel so special. Like mailing me a birthday card or a letter just because, getting me a chocolate "treat" at Easter, or asking how my day was. It made me happy and proud that she shared many milestones in my life. My birthdays, graduations, and getting married to name a few. She was so good to my wife Elena and our children. They enjoyed her company and I could tell she enjoyed spending time with them too. I am so happy they got to know her. She made a positive impact on their lives too. She was a surrogate Grandmother to me and my family. I loved and cherished her as my Grandmother. I especially enjoyed as a kid going on walks with them and their dog "Rusty" after supper. I would also appreciate spending time with her and Gerald as we would sit on lawn chairs in the yard on summer evenings. I remember as a young boy, sitting on her lap and listening to her tell me stories of her childhood. Ada was always so positive. That I think is what I will remember and miss the most. I am grateful to have had her in my life. I will miss that beautiful energy in her eyes and that heart warming smile. I love you Ada! enjoy that walk you will have with Gerald and Rusty.
