MacVoy, Frederick Allen

Died peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 95 at Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington on October 1, 2017. Son of the late Charles and Sadie (nee Gustin) MacVoy. Predeceased by his beloved wife of over 70 years, Evelyn Grace (nee Ford). Cherished father of Diana (Richard) Chivers, Barbara LeGault, Allen (Sylvia) MacVoy, Carol (Paul) Farias, and Gary MacVoy. Predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters, and 1 great granddaughter. Survived by 2 sister-in-laws, Gladys (Preston MacVoy and Marie (Johnson) MacVoy. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Fred retired from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications after 30 years of dedicated service. In his early retirement years, Fred was an avid golfer and bowler and Fred and his wife Evelyn travelled Ontario in their travel trailer. In later years, they settled a trailer at Port Glasgow Trailer Park and continued seasonal camping until 2013. Fred continued to drive until the age of 93 having 70 years of driving without a ticket, traffic violation or accident. Fred was blessed to have amazing caregivers at Erie Shores Hospice and at his late residence of Southgate Residence in Kingsville. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Cremation will take place. Graveside Service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1 pm. Linda Blair officiating.
