Friday, October 6, 2017Our Uncle Gord could look serious, exude compassion and love while being very humorous all at the same time. Every visit with him was joyful and entertaining. Expressions such as, "Give me a break" would make us all chuckle. We will deeply cherish our memories of him.

Friday, October 6, 2017One hopes that somewhere in heaven there is a wonderful curling rink where Gordon can continue to follow his passion. We knew Gordon and Eileen both through the Leamington Horticultural Society and then for their dedication to ElderCollege in its start-up years. Gordon old coffee drinking buddy, it was you who led me to my first downfall--trying to figure out how to make a heavy rock move along pebbly ice and, instead landing unmentionably down. Gordon old kid, you laughed and I enjoyed your laugh and your encouragement but I still failed at curling! I owed you a coffee and I owed you an ear to listen to your wisdom, insights and encouragement. You will be deeply missed old friend--the chap who took our money at the annual Lutheran church pancake dinner. That smile, that frankness and that solidity of mind and purpose. The world is not a better place this week because you have left all of us. I hope God finds a decent broom for you old buddy!

Friday, October 6, 2017Eileen & family My condolences on the loss of Gord. I have worked in a few corporate settings, but spent my longest time at TNT – luckily never too far from Gord. Nowhere have I found more fun, compassion and fairness in a work environment than when working for Gord. I am sure he taught many more than just me that it is best to conduct our jobs humanely if we want a good quality of life. There goes one of the good guys.

Thursday, October 5, 2017Gord has always been my favourite boss. He was my mentor and taught me all of the good I know about business. He took the time to teach me, to let me learn and to let me fail. He showed me the value of being a good person and to always pay it forward. I was fortunate enough to work for Gord at TNT. He was an amazing man, a fun baseball coach and an even better friend. My world is a better place because of him. My deepest condolences to Eileen and family. Thank you for sharing him with so many. xox.
