It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nora Sarkis, on Tuesday February 20, 2018. She passed away  surrounded by her loving family at the Erie Shores Hospice. Beloved wife of the late Simon Sarkis (2005). Dearest mother to Marcel (Nancy), Fred (Jeanne d’Arc), George (Sylvana), Raymond (Marilyn), Simona (Vic), Saliba, and Yolla (Paul). Loving grandmother to Rebecca, Jennifer, Marcel Jr, Matthew, Rita, John, Freddy, Gloria, Christina, Charbel, Shawn, Hillary, Ava, Brendan, Vanessa, Aliyah, Simon, Sophia, Adrian, Angelica, and Jaydon. Dearest great grandmother to 16 great children. Predeceased by her parents Gabriel and Hanna Hassarati, brothers Ughal and Youseff, sisters Hasna Tannous and Etour Toubia. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Martha Eid and Kamela Hassarati, brother in law Nadim Sarkis, sister in law Hanna Badour and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Nora held many things sacred. She had so much faith in the lord and trusted in him to protect her children and their families. Shortly after moving to Canada in 1968, Nora was diagnosed with Lupus, a fight that was never ending! The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and volunteers at the Erie Shores Hospice.  They made this difficult time much easier with their dedication to our mother and gentle compassion to our family. We will be forever grateful. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Friday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Parish, 280 Talbot St. E., Leamington from 8:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment at Erie Memorial Gardens. Parish prayers Friday at 8:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made by cheque to Erie Shores Hospice. Family and friends are invited to share their words of comfort and remembrance at
