Elburg, Adele (nee Osterloo)

Adele Elburg was born in Suderwick, Germany on May 22, 1916. She passed away peacefully on September 1, 2018 at the Leamington Mennonite Home at the age of 102. She is predeceased by her husband John Elburg who died December 20, 1996, her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her son Harry Elburg and his wife Eva Elburg. Her grandchildren Michael P. Elburg, Bonnie Chandler, Mark Elburg and Michelle Sullivan. Her great granchildren Rachelle Elburg, Jenny Elburg, Michael J.H. Elburg, Caroline Chandler, and Jake Sullivan. Great-great granchildren Gavin Tasco, Addie Tasco and Hudson Tasco. During the 1930's she worked in a clothing store in Holland. While working there, she met her husband, John. At that time, it was difficult for a Dutch person to marry a German. But this did not stop them. She and her husband and son, Harry survived many hard years during the war. In 1951 she and her husband immigrated to Canada with their son, Harry. She lived the last of her life in Leamington. In her later years she was taken care of in the Mennonite Home in Leamington. Family and friends will gather on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Leamington Mennonite Home, 35 Pickwick Drive, Leamington from 9:30 a..m. until the Funeral Service to celebrate Adele's life at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
