Obituary of Murray Knox
James Murray Knox
(1931 - 2019) Murray passed away peacefully at Erie Shores Hospice Campus on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the age of 88. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years Audrey (Liddle) Knox, his two sons James (Darlene) and Jerry (Janet) and special nieces Roxanne Belli (Victor) and Shelley Ingratta (Louis). Grandfather (Papa) to his three grandchildren Aaron Owchar, Aleshia Kostyshen (Randy), Julia Neely (Kyle), and his four great-grandchildren Dalilah Owchar, Jaxson Kostyshen, Zoey Kostyshen and Oliver Neely.
Murray was born in Mersea Township to Wilson and Mary Knox (predeceased). Brother to William Knox (predeceased) (Kathy), niece Michelle Knox, nephew Greg Knox and brother-in-law to Margaret and Rex Dundas (predeceased) and Marjorie Liddle (predeceased).
Murray was a Past Master and life time devoted member of the Xenophon Lodge No. 448 Masonic Hall.
Murray was proud to be employed by the H.J. Heinz Company in Leamington, retiring in 1989 after 40 years. He enjoyed his sports, baseball, hockey, golf, pool league, was an avid Windsor Spitfire fan and looked forward to poker nights with the guys. Murray loved his time with family and will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff on the Second Floor Medical/Surgery, Erie Shores HealthCare and the entire staff and volunteers at the Erie Shores Hospice for their care and compassion given to Murray and our family.
Visitation will be held at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington, (519-326-2631) on Monday December 02, 2019 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service to celebrate Murray’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 03, 2019 at 11:00 am with a period of visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Erie Cemetery, Wheatley. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Erie Shores Hospice.
